We want you to develop a faith that thrives into the college years and beyond.

Why is this Expected?

  • According to the research done in “Sticky Faith,” between 40-70% of students who leave their faith in the college years never return.

  • Eventually we want students to leave the youth group, but not the church! God expects His followers to be committed to Him until the day we die.

  • Revelation 2:10 “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

How We Want to Help You Meet this Expectation:

  • Several items mentioned above deal with connecting students to people who care about their souls (Youth ministers, youth deacons, Up Groups, Cocoons, Youth Houses, the youth group, etc.)

  • S.I.C. (Spying In Canaan) Days: In the Old Testament, twelve spies were sent into Canaan to get a lay of the land and to come back and give a report on what they saw. Unfortunately, ten of the spies came back with a bad report and failed to see God in the land. As a result, the people of Israel were punished for their lack of faith. “S.I.C. Days” are designed to give our high school juniors and seniors a chance to Spy In Canaan, the land to which many of them are heading (college). We want them to see God in the land, and think about what their spiritual life needs to look like. The weekend trip will challenge them to think about what their faith will look like once they leave home. Over the course of the weekend, we will connect our students with a campus minister & campus ministry (if there is one), a local congregation, and a preacher and elder.

  • The Varsity: We are excited to offer a college-aged ministry to the students that will still be in the Mt. Juliet area after high school. Expect to see a lot of familiar faces in that group!
